For the past three years, Luke has been an NDIS Behaviour Specialist, supporting his clients with strategies for achieving their goals so they can engage meaningfully in the community and improve their quality of life. He often employs traffic light behaviour management to help children with the skills they need for emotional regulation.
Earlier, Luke was employed for two years as an NDIS Team Leader for a mental health group home, where his responsibilities included staffing, mental health management, community access,
stakeholder and guardian meetings, and leading group activities.
For five years, Luke worked as a Special Education Teacher (early intervention), supporting children aged 4 to 8 with their sensory and emotional needs in the primary school environment.
Luke has great empathy for people living with disability and their families and carers, having entered the world of disability at age 5 as a young carer. He understands what it’s like to move from helplessness to having something to fight for, and uses his experiences to help others make this leap for a better life.
