What is a VTEC?

As a Vocational Training and Employment Centre (VTEC), atWork Australia connects Indigenous job seekers with guaranteed jobs and brings together the support services necessary to prepare job seekers for long-term employment.

The guarantee of a job before job-specific training starts is the key feature that ensures:

  • Vocational or job-specific training is directly related to available jobs
  • Employers recruit Indigenous job seekers with the right skills for specific jobs
  • Job seekers are responsible for opting into available jobs
  • A job seekers upfront commitment is rewarded with guaranteed employment

How it works in WA

We were proud to be awarded the very first VTEC contract in Western Australia and atWork Australia’s specialist VTEC employment consultants have placed 330 indigenous Australians into guaranteed jobs since 2014.

Through community collaboration, atWork Australia links Indigenous candidates to a guaranteed job at the end of their training. The process is effortless for you as the employer, but the cogs behind the program are constantly working to ensure success.

atWork Australia manages the program to match your needs. We partner with local community groups who provide mentoring, job seeker engagement and support services to VTEC job seekers.

We partner with South Metropolitan TAFE to ensure quality training and education services for VTEC job seekers to meet the requirements of participating employers.

These services are provided to achieve successful outcomes at no cost to the employer or job seeker.
