National hardware retailer, Bunnings, is committed to creating a welcoming and supportive workplace where everyone belongs.
atWork Australia has been collaborating with Bunnings to provide opportunities for meaningful work for our clients. Last year, almost 40 clients found a role they can thrive in.
“Bunnings has many programs they implement to support our clients in the workplace,” said Employer Partnership Manager, Jess, from our Western Australia team.
“They partner with the Australian Disability Network for support and guidance to provide the best support for those living with disability.”
“They also have lots of training, mentoring, different kinds of roles, flexibility in hours, and ways for clients to express who they are. This means Bunnings can be a great fit for a variety of our clients.”
One of our clients in Western Australia, a First Nations woman who is the primary caregiver for her children, started working for Bunnings in September 2024 and is thriving in the role.
She wanted a role where she could be active, do something she was passionate about and they were able to offer her hours that were flexible around her caring responsibilities.
Recently Bunnings attended our First Steps to Success event in Albany, WA, and provided a strong sense of community engagement; talking to clients and providing them with valuable advice on the recruitment process.
