Free employment support for people living with disability, injury and health conditions

Our Job Coaches provide free employment support for people living with disability, injury or a health condition. This includes support for people living with physical
disability, mental health conditions, neurodivergence, intellectual disability, chronic illness or other health-related barriers to work. Your Job Coach will take the time to
understand your individual strengths, goals and support needs, then help you access the right support for your employment journey

How would you and your Job Coach work together?

Here at atWork Australia, you’ll get your very own Job Coach who provides support to gain employment. You’ll also have a team of support behind you, including Employer
Engagement Consultants, In-Work Support, our Client Solutions Centre and more. We’re here to help you find and sustain meaningful work that helps you get what you
want out of life and your career.

With your Job Coach, you’ll develop a plan to get the right job with the right employer. Your Job Coach will help you determine your skills, experience and interests, and
what you want to achieve in work, life and career. They’ll also help build your confidence and your abilities, should you need it.

Your Job Coach will be there as you progress through your plan. They will be your advocate, your sounding board and your support. They’ll connect you with the
community, employers, or health professionals. They can refer you to health and wellbeing coaches, in-house courses, employer networking, skills training, and so much
more to make your job search journey a positive and successful experience

What your Job Coach can help with

Every person’s employment journey is different. Your Job Coach can provide
tailored support to help you overcome barriers, build confidence and prepare for
success in the workplace.

  • Identify suitable employment opportunities that align with your skills, interests, experience and career goals.
  • Create or update your resume, tailor cover letters and prepare job applications that showcase your strengths.
  • Build confidence through interview practice, preparation tips and support to help you present your best self to employers.
  • Access support to gain licences, tickets or certifications that may improve your employment opportunities, including industry-specific training.
  • Receive assistance with uniforms, personal protective equipment (PPE), pre employment requirements and other practical needs before starting a role.

Finding meaningful employment often involves more than searching for jobs and attending interviews. That’s why your Job Coach provides personalised support that
focuses on your goals, circumstances and long-term success.

Your Job Coach can:

  • Act as an advocate when communicating with employers.

  • Help identify training and development opportunities.
  • Connect you with community services and support networks.
  • Provide advice around practical matters such as reporting employment income to Centrelink.
  • Help address barriers that may impact your ability to find or maintain employment.

Yes, as an atWork Australia client, you will have access to a range of support services including resume writing and interview preparation. We’ll listen to your needs and then work with you to create a plan to help you meet your goals. We’ll go at your pace, connect you with any training or other resources you may need helping you present yourself confidently to potential employers.

If you need to build your skills, confidence or qualifications before starting work, your Job Coach can help identify training and development opportunities that align with your employment goals. Together, you’ll create a personalised plan that focuses on helping you become job-ready and supporting you to reach your training, life and career goals.

Yes. Your Job Coach can discuss any barriers that may be making it harder for you to find or keep a job, including transport and other practical needs. Depending on your individual circumstances and program eligibility, they can connect you with the right support, services and resources to help you achieve your employment goals.

No. atWork Australia supports people living with disability, injury, health conditions and other barriers to employment. Job Coaches work with people who have a wide range of support needs and tailor their approach to each individual’s circumstances, goals and abilities.

Yes. Job Coaches support people living with mental health conditions, as well as people who are neurodiverse. The atWork Australia team understands that not all conditions we live with are visible and that’s why the support we provide is tailored to your needs.
