Workforce Australia client, Lockey, is the newest employee at the local Cheese factory.

When Lockey connected with atWork Australia he was experiencing some significant personal barriers impacting him mentally, emotionally and physically. In addition, the financial impact of being without work was impacting on his mental health.

His Job Coach, Denni, referred Lockey to our in-house Wellness Services. Something which supported him to become work ready.

“Lockey was grateful to have access to Allied Health Professionals through atWork Australia,” said Denni.

“External support can often be hard for our clients to reach and or maintain appointments due to cost.”

Lockey was also helped financially to upskill through a CPR, First Aid and Forklift course.

“Having access to employment funding for training and upskilling had a positive impact,” said Denni.

“It significantly helped increase Lockey’s employability and overall confidence to re-enter the workforce.”

Lockey was feeling so confident he began to participate in the Self Employment Assistance program to look at self-employment. However, when an opportunity to work in a Cheese factory became available, Lockey couldn’t resist.

Now armed the required qualifications for the role, and a self-proclaimed Cheese Connoisseur, Locky interviewed for the role.

The team again helped him with transport and clothing for the role, and he landed the position.

“Lockey has a new lease on life and is looking forward to this new chapter,” said Denni.
