“My self-confidence was low and my motivation nil. My life was going down a spiral,” said atWork Australia client, Grace.

Grace had been without work for almost three years. She relied on public transport which was limited in the Ellenbrook area.
The atWork Australia team supported Grace to gain her driver’s licence through lessons. They provided flexible support with phone appointments and always made sure any job recommendations were suited to public transport.
Within a few months of working with the atWork Australia team, Grace was referred to a training program specific to employer, Woolworths. The four-day course included soft skills relevant to the role, a walkthrough of the store, and resume and interview preparation.

With full preparation, Grace was confident in herself, her knowledge of the role, and the culture the employer was looking for that she excelled in her interview.
When Grace was successful landed the role, Job Coach, Amy, sent Grace a message wishing her good luck on her first day.
Grace has continued to be supported through atWork Australia’s InWork Support team, and the team work directly with Woolworths to ensure Grace receives all the help she needs.
Since starting in her role only a few months ago, Grace has now been promoted to assistant manager.
