Disability Employment Services client, Fransisca, started working with atWork Australia during a stressful time of her life.
As a single parent, Fransisca was supporting her children, including a teenager who was navigating an emotional and complicated time.
Fransisca needed some time to focus on her, and her family’s, health and wellbeing.
Her Job Coach, Ananya, referred Fransisca to additional support through our internal Wellness Services.
Together with Fransisca they discussed working on some transferable skills for the workplace, that might also help her at home.
They focused on creating a daily routine, to support time management, and Fransisca was tasked with creating a to-do list that she could achieve each day.
When she was ready to return to the workforce, working together with the Wellness Team and Ananya, they helped set a to do list for returning to work.
Fransisca decided that she wanted to pursue Support Work. The local employer engagement team had a contact for support work and contacted the employer to arrange an interview for Fransisca.
Job Coach, Ananya, attended the interview with Fransisca for additional support. She successfully landed the role.
The next steps on the to-do list involved supporting her to gain her first aid, CPR and other checks she would require to start the role.
She was then supported with fuel vouchers so she could get to work those first few weeks.
“Fransisca is enjoying her new role as a Support Worker,” said Ananya.
“She feels the role has given her more purpose and less time to overthink.”
“Ms Ananya, is a very genuine person for helping me look and search for my qualifications for a job,” said Fransisca.
“Ananya is a positive person and a superb advisor,” said Fransisca.
