When First Nations client, Lance connected with atWork Australia, he had never held paid employment. At 24 years old, a shy Lance was looking for assistance and support to guide him into employment.
Lance’s Job Coach, Rachael, connected him to training to provide him with new skills and confidence.
Thinking he might like to work in warehousing, Lance completed a white card and Certificate III in Supply Chain Operations.
Lance also mentioned that he wanted to gain his drivers licence to open the door to more work opportunities.
Rachael financially supported Lance with driving lessons.
Now feeling like he was making progress, Lance was motivated and ready to take on some interviews.
Rachael connected him to Employer Engagement Consultant, Ashleigh.
Ashleigh shared an opportunity in a bottle shop, and Lance was keen. He quickly completed his responsible service of alcohol certificate and attended a group interview.
Lance was nervous and shy during the interview but was excited to be there. With Ashleigh advocating and promoting Lance to the employer, they decided to give him a go.
“Lance was very happy to have been given the opportunity to further his skills and career,” said Ashleigh.
“He has gained so much confidence since completing both his Drivers Licence, RSA and now work experience. He will have many more employment opportunities in the future.”
“Lance is a great addition to the team. He has settled in well and is becoming more confident,” said Ashleigh.
