Workforce Australia client, Corey, was ready for work. To help make sure Corey was fully prepared to ace an interview with an upcoming employer, his Job Coach, Carrie, referred him to our internal program called Identify and Prepare for Employment program (IPEP).
The program ran across four days, covering a range of topics specific to the employer such as what’s involved in the role, mock interviews tailored to the role, upskilling and soft skills the employer is looking for.
For Corey, learning how to conduct himself during the interview process was a standout moment in the program.
“The interview preparation was a highlight for Corey,” said facilitator, Tyaneill.
“It helped Corey break down some of his barriers around confidence and helped him showcase his knowledge and skills.”
Tyaneill said that Corey’s participation in the course helped him stand out.
“Corey is approachable and friendly,” said Tyaneill.
“He was fully engaging in the program and conducted himself so well during the interview preparation that he earned a recommendation from our employer engagement consultant, Jade.”
Two weeks after the program, Corey attended an interview with the employer. Due to participating in the program, he felt fully prepared, which helped him feel confident in his skills and knowledge of the role.
He was successful and currently thriving in his new role.
“Corey has been showing commitment by picking up additional shifts and has approached the management team to start progressing towards leadership positions,” said Tyaneill.
