Robert had been a stay-at-home father since 2020. He had been searching for employment without success which significantly impacted his confidence.

To support Robert, find a direction in his career goals, and an industry that would suit his work life balance goals, he was invited to attend an information session with our employer engagement team.
The session helped Robert learnt more about the role, what was involved, and the requirements he would need. It helped Robert gain career direction, he knew he wanted an active, and outdoor based role.
The atWork Australia team identified that Roberts resume was very basic and not relevant to the industries he was applying for.
With his resume updated, Robert began to gain interviews, which boosted his confidence. atWork Australia worked with Robert to enhance his interview skills including going over interview scenarios.
He was provided with interview and work-related clothing to prepare for these interviews. Robert would attend the office with a spring in his step after interviews had or to share information about upcoming interviews.
He was supported to enrol in a Certificate II in Security Operations. He was then assisted to gain a security licence. Robert was able to meet his points target in PBAS through a mix of upskilling, job searching and relevant activities suited to his employment goals.
Robert has been placed into a few roles including security and as a labourer while he learns what role is perfect fit for him.
