Cody was connected to atWork Australia, right after he finished High School. He had limited work experience, was unsure of what work he wanted to do, and wasn’t sure how to apply for jobs.
Job Coach, Julian, worked with Cody to create his first ever resume.
“Cody was willing to throw his hat in the ring for anything, with the intention of discovering what he would like to do long term,” said Julian.
Julian worked with Cody exploring types of industries, types of roles and how to incorporate his interests into work. After these conversations, Cody was interested to pursue production and warehousing.
Julian referred Cody to an accelerator supply chain program and worked with him to build his confidence.
“Cody has shown strong initiative and resilience. He began contacting employers directly, making follow up calls and exploring the hidden job market,” said Julian.
When Cody was presented with an opportunity through the Real Jobs Real Wages program with a local manufacturing employer, Cody was happy to give it a go.
Julian helped him prepare for his interview and he was successful.
“Cody was visibly pleased with the outcome and expressed pride and confidence in having earnt it,” said Julian.
“He is able to now work and save for what he wants.”
