“When I first started my journey with atWork Australia, I had my mum attend with me, as I had low self-confidence,” said First Nations client, Andy.
Andy then started attending appointments independently.
“This was a huge step in my confidence as my mental barriers were pushing me back for a long time. This made me feel as if I was capable of doing hard things.”
He then met, Job Coach, Nevayah. She encouraged Andy to look for work that encouraged him and motivated him to want to work.

Andy tried a few jobs including working as a truck washer and metal fabricator, but nothing felt like the right fit. So, when Nevayah suggested a role in gardening he was excited as he had a passion for gardening.
“Nevayah helped me find something that pushed me and allowed me to overcome my fears,” said Andy.
“With the help of Nevayah, I feel like the dream of starting my own gardening business is now something achievable rather than impossible.”
