19-year-old client, Krystal, was facing some tough challenges as a young person including facing homelessness.
Her Job Coach, Anika, connected Krystal to community services to assist her with housing and referred her to Wellness Services for support with her wellbeing.
This support was important to Krystal, and she was looking forward to working with her Job Coach, Anika, to find meaningful work.
Krystal’s goal was to become financially stable so that she could find stable housing. Anika also connected Krystal to the Money Minded program to learn basic financial skills she hadn’t learnt before.
As they began to work together on her goals, she felt Anika truly believed in her. This helped motivate her to launch into work.
Krystal started walking from business to business, handing out her resume, and within an hour she had found a casual role working in a fast-food restaurant.
“Krystal was so excited she found work so quickly,” said Anika.
Anika had also been working in the background to market Krystal to employers and found a hairdressing apprenticeship that was the right fit.
This was Krystal’s dream type of employment, and with atWork Australia’s support she purchased interview clothing to look her best.
atWork Australia also supported her with fuel to get to the interview. She successfully landed the job.
