In 2023, atWork Australia supported Inclusive Employment Australia client, Sherridan, into meaningful employment. She began at a canvas manufacturing company as a machinist but was then soon offered an apprenticeship.
In late June 2026, Sherridan had recently returned from a conference where she had won an award for innovation.
Sherridan thrived in that role until suddenly, she was made redundant. Sherridan was still being supported by atWork Australia in ongoing support, and she asked her In Work Support Coach for assistance. She really wanted to complete her apprenticeship as she was due to finish in December.
The atWork Australia team got to work, updated her resume and started reaching out to employers on her behalf.
Through our employer engagement team, Sherridan was connected to a small family business who was willing to support her to finish her mature, aged apprenticeship.
Sherridan lives with mental health conditions, and the family environment is supporting her to continue to thrive.
“She is doing all her work, in and above, the allocated time and all her work is being complimented by others. Everyone is very family friendly, and they respect her for her skills and abilities,” said In Work Support Coach, Scillia.
“I’m so happy to be back at work so quickly,” said Sherridan.
