“Indi went out of her way to find me a job.” – Mick

When client, Mick, attended the atWork Australia office in Narooma, he was living with anxiety.

Mick had been working in a gardening role, but the hours were minimal and the role was no longer suiting his needs.

The longer he searched for another job, the more anxious he became.

Job Coach, Indi, got to know Mick, and his goals. She worked with him to support him find a job he could thrive in.

Mick wanted to return to work in hospitality. Indi supported him by reaching out to employers on his behalf to see if anyone had any work available.

By Indi reaching out to employers on Mick’s behalf, this supported him to gain employment without exaggerating his anxiety.

Soon she spoke to a local business who had a role available and was interested in speaking to Mick further. Indi phoned Mick to help prepare him for the phone call from the employer. She reminded him of strengths and abilities.

He successfully landed the role and was supported while he transitioned into the new role.

atWork Australia supported him to purchase work related clothing including new shoes for the role.

His In-Work Support Coach, connected with him regularly, and when he was unable to log in for his shifts as his phone was breaking, atWork Australia supported him to purchase a new phone.

Mick has advised he is thriving in work, working more than 20 hours a week and loving it.

“Indi went out of her way to find me a job,” said Mick.
