When Kevin connected with atWork Australia in Campsie, he felt he was not ready to return to work. He was unsure of his employment options, and didn’t know what direction he wanted to take.
His Job Coach Viviana suggested to Kevin that participating in upskilling and internal programs might help him learn what types of work interest him.

Kevin was referred to relevant pre-employment training programs, such as First Steps to Success. An event held at the local atWork Australia office, where Kevin was able to meet with a variety of employers to look further into different industries.
He was also enrolled in a CAFÉ coffee and food and beverage essentials course.
“I was enrolled last minute for the CAFE course not really knowing what to expect however I thoroughly enjoyed it and can confidently walk away with some great new skills and knowledge,” said Kevin.
“The staff and trainers were also very accommodating which added to the experience. I thought Viviana was an amazing help, tirelessly working to ensure all had a comfortable and positive experience and really made the week successful.”
After participating in these programs, and with the coaching and mentoring provided by his Job Coach, Viviana, Kevin started to feel ready to return to work.
He actively started job searching and found his own role as a cleaner.
“Kevin soon secured employment and is happy with the flexible hours offered for his personal circumstances,” said Viviana.
“Kevin is on his way to reaching his employment goals,” said Viviana.
