“Siriphun thought he was dreaming because he was so happy when the employer made the job offer,” said Wahidah

Workforce Australia client, Siriphun, had always wanted to work in the transport industry. For most of his career he had been working in specialised driver roles.

However, after being unemployed for some time, Siriphun had lost confidence in applying for work.

Job Coach, Wahidah, encouraged Siriphun to highlight his strengths and abilities.

He was connected to tailored courses to update his qualifications including a first aid certificate and a trailer mounted attenuators course for truck driving.

When Siriphun was feeling confident, the atWork Australia team helped him purchase new clothing to look his best in any interviews.

Job Coach, Wahidah, worked together with Siriphun to practice interviews. Building his confidence with every question they practised together.

After the practice interviews, the team felt Siriphun was ready for work, and organised an interview with one of our employers, John Holland Buses.

The team knows the employer well and knows Siriphun would be a good fit for them.

With all his practice and new confidence, Siriphun interviewed well and landed the role.

Since he has started work, the atWork Australia team have supported him with fuel vouchers so he can get to and from the depot to continue working.

For his new employer, they now have a reliable worker, grateful for the opportunity to be employed.

“Siriphun thought he was dreaming because he was so happy when the employer made the job offer,” said Wahidah.
