Workforce Australia Client, Stacey, has lived with mental health conditions. She had spent the past four years focusing on her health and wellbeing.
One of Stacey’s biggest challenges is working through change, especially meeting new people. It took her a little while to build up trust with her Job Coach, Helen.
Helen encouraged Stacey to engage in our Wellness Services for additional professional support with her health and wellbeing.
During their appointments, Helen focused on actively listening to Stacey and supporting her with advice regarding how to approach work related situations.
Together they discussed types of work that would be flexible, employers who would be understanding and navigating work environments.
They also created a new resume for her.
As Stacey felt her support network building, her confidence began to grow knowing she had people by her side.
“Stacey felt heard, considered, and thought of during her journey,” said Helen.
“This feeling of support helped build her confidence to apply for work.” This was a big step in Stacey’s journey, and she was celebrated for applying for work by Helen and the team.
Stacey landed an interview as a domestic cleaner and was supported by the atWork Australia team to purchase cleaning equipment for her first day.
“Stacey is making small steps to improve her confidence,” said Helen.
“We celebrate those small wins and let her know they are important in her overall achievement.”
Stacy continues to be supported by the team who understand that employment is a journey, and they are by her side as she navigates this change.
“I’m very thankful for the patience, understanding and empathy that’s been shown,” said Stacey.
