Inclusive Employment Australia client, Dion, has lived experience of the prison system as an ex-offender.
He was ready to work and was motivated to upskill. With atWork Australia’s support Dion completed his traffic control ticket, gas testing certificate, first aid, HR truck driving licence and gained his confined spaces and working at heights ticket.
Dion’s long-term goal is to gain a job in the mines as a FIFO truck driver, however for now he just wanted experience in the workplace.

“His story shows that with hard work, determination, and support, it can lead to real change.”
Armed with qualifications and new resume, atWork Australia began to connect Dion to employers.
He met with different employers at our First Steps to Success event and was screened by our employer engagement team to be referred to roles.
Soon Dion was connected by atWork Australia to a role as a yard hand/ labourer.
“Dion has stayed committed to gaining his qualifications, proving that with the right effort people can rebuild their lives,” said Jessica.
“Being a part of this service and gaining employment has changed me. I feel more confident in myself and what I can achieve,” said Dion.
“Having a job has given me structure and purpose. It has helped me see that I can move forward from my past and build a better future,” said Dion.
