22-year-old Jayden is Autistic, and he has a passion for the retail industry.
“Jayden has a passion for people,” said Job Coach, Jessica from the Rockingham atWork Australia office in Western Australia.
“He enjoys socialising, speaking with people and helping them.”
At only 22, Jayden had limited qualifications and work experience. To help him reach his goals, Jessica connected Jayden to upskilling opportunities.
With atWork Australia’s assistance, Jayden completed his Barista course, first aid certificate and responsible service of alcohol ticket.
“I would describe Jayden as a go-getter,” said Jessica.
“He was proactive and motivated to find the right opportunity.”
Jayden attended many interviews, and work trials that he had applied for himself. However, it was when atWork Australia connected Jayden to the right employer that he was able to shine.
Jessica and the atWork Australia team advocated for Jayden and made sure the employer was inclusive and flexible to his needs.
He is now working 20 hours a week as a retail sales assistant.
“I’m happy I got the help and encouragement from atWork Australia and my Job Coach, Jess, to assist with gaining the employment I have now,” said Jayden.
“Certificates and upskilling helped me improve my chances, and skills, to find the employment I wanted,” said Jayden.
Every year, atWork Australia help thousands of clients like Jayden expand their skills and qualifications to help them gain the right job with the right employer. Call us today on 1300 080 856 or enquire online to find out how we can help you meet your career goals.
