Farishta is a refugee now living in Australia. In 2022, at 22 years old, Farishta had never held paid employment before.
“Farishta is friendly, polite, intelligent and motivated. In the beginning, she was determined to work but lacked confidence to land interviews due to no previous experience,” said Job Coach, Sharmistha.
After she started with atWork Australia she gained her first job as a shop assistant.
“While the role didn’t last long, Farishta became more confident and clearer in her employment goals,” said Sharmistha.
They continued to work together in regular appointments, and over time Farishta was more willing to step outside of her comfort zone.
With ongoing support, patience and encouragement from Job Coach, Sharmistha, Farishta was ready to start taking big steps towards her goals.
She was supported to enrol in a Certificate III in Business (Records and Information Management) and was connected to atWork Australia’s Wellness Services for support.
“Farishta built more confidence and her drive and determination to find employment increased. She started to believe she could do anything she set her mind to,” said Sharmistha.
“She now approaches challenges in the workplace with determination and a willingness to learn, always looking for opportunities to upskill and improve herself professionally.”
Since commencing with atWork Australia in 2022, Farishta has now held three roles in customer service and is currently working in a retail position while she undertakes further study.
“Through belief and guidance Farishta improved in herself confidence and trust in her own abilities. This helped her smoothly transition into different customer service roles,” said Sharmistha.
“I am grateful for the support and encouragement I have received throughout my journey as it has helped me believe in my abilities. I now continue striving to success,” said Farishta.
“I look forward to continuing to grow, challenge myself and build a stable and successful future.”
