Jeffrey had been out of work for three years. He was keen to return to employment.
He was connected to Job Coach, Zeja, at the atWork Australia office in Midland, Western Australia.
To support Jeffrey, update his qualifications, he was supported to complete his forklift licence and white card.
He was also connected to our inhouse Wellness Services for support with his mental health.
Jeffrey and Zeja looked online for suitable roles however many didn’t suit Jeffrey’s health conditions or required a police check.
Zeja connected with atWork Australia’s Employer Engagement team who were able to connect Jeffrey with a role as a pick packer.
He was then supported to purchase work boots and clothing.
“Jeffrey’s spirit has lifted massively since gaining full time employment,” said Zeja.
“He absolutely loves his job as it gives him purpose.”
The role was tailored to support Jeffrey’s health conditions, resulting in a sustainable long-term opportunity.
“I get to travel in a van a few days a week which gets me out of the warehouse,” said Jeffrey.
“I’m so happy with this job.”
