Kylie is a First Nations woman and proud parent of her two sons. She first connected with atWork Australia seeking support to build confidence, gain stable employment, and create a better future for her family.
With prior experience in hospitality and a strong desire to work, she was motivated to overcome her barriers and re-enter the workforce with the right support and guidance.
The atWork Australia team assisted with transport, food vouchers when needed, interview clothing, and funding for Kylie to gain her responsible service of alcohol, and gambling certificates to broaden her employment opportunities.
These practical supports allowed Kylie to fully participate in training and interviews.
This, combined with ongoing encouragement from her Job Coach, Kym, supported Kylie to build the confidence, and skills she needed.Soon Kylie gained part-time weekend work at a local hotel, however she wanted a role with more hours. So, Job Coach, Kym, referred Kylie to atWork Australia’s Identify and Prepare for Employment Program for employer ISS.
The program focussed on employer-led training, interview preparation and practical job readiness activities specific to the roles available at ISS.
