Anna lives with a spinal disorder and had never worked before until atWork Australia were able to connect her to a specialised role.
Her InWork Support Coach, Melissa was able to assist Anna to find a pick packing role that she could do seated.
Anna was also navigating a lot of very difficult personal issues in her personal life.
The atWork Australia team provided emotional support and identified a need for Anna to develop friendships and increase her support network.
She was connected to a local group of ladies who meet weekly for activities. As Anna relies on public transport she was supported by atWork Australia to navigate how to attend these social activities.
She was so happy to be working, but after some time the work finished up.
“Despite the role ending, Anna gained a lot of confidence and new skills which have had a really positive impact in her life,” said Melissa.
Anna then returned to atWork Australia for support, and was connected to Job Coach, Anthony.
Anthony also identified how important it was for Anna to keep building connections and is helping her once again connect to social groups.
Anna is currently working with Anthony on her next employment opportunity.
“Working made me very happy, going out meeting new people was so good. The ladies in my team were very nice. I had more confidence as it showed me that I can work,” said Anna.
