Umu had been out of work for the last four years, looking after her child as a single parent. Umu migrated to Australia as a refugee and lives with health barriers to employment.
Umu wanted to return to work for increased financial security for her family. She worked with Job Coach, Nasrin for support to reach her employment goals.
Umu was looking for a part time role within school hours. She also needed a supportive employer as Umu often experienced dizziness, vertigo and migraine headaches.
Soon atWork Australia was able to connect Umu to an inclusive employer. Nasrin worked with Umu to prepare for the interview and a work trial.
She completed the trial and was successful in obtaining employment as a General Hand completing back of house tasks within a butchery in a part time capacity.

Sometimes Umu’s health was overwhelming, and she felt an increased pressure due to her health, family and housing concerns. During these times her employer was supportive and understanding.
