“Nusrath is now confident in communicating with different shop owners.” – Wahidah

Nusrath has limited English skills. She had been out of the workforce caring for her children.

In her role as a mother, she found that spending time in the kitchen, cooking, was one of her passions.

She shared with her Job Coach, Aarshi, she thought the hospitality industry, specifically catering, would be a good fit for her.

Nusrath had been applying for jobs online and hadn’t heard anything back.

Aarshi researched the catering industry and identified Nusrath needed assistance with creating an ABN, so she could pursue sub-contracting and self-employment.

Nusrath attended fortnightly appointment with Aarshi and they worked together to prepare for potential local customer.

They spoke about how to approach local businesses, how to highlight her strengths and what types of catering food she could prepare and supply.

They practiced mock scenarios and with every question, Nasrath gained more confidence.

With all her new knowledge of local shops and improved self-confidence, Nusrath was ready to start her own business as a caterer.

As she moved into her self-employment, she was supported by In Work Support Coach, Wahidah,

Wahidah continues to see Nusraths confidence grow and supports along the way with fuel and grocery vouchers as needed.

“Nusrath is now confident in communicating with different shop owners,” Wahidah.
