Iain is a motivated and community-focused individual with a strong connection to the Noongar community and a genuine passion for helping others.
He has been working with Job Coach, Evelyn, on his journey to employment.
Iain has always expressed a clear passion for working within the community, particularly in roles that allow him to support and contribute to the Noongar community. Iain’s long-term goal has been to secure meaningful employment in community services or administration where he can make a positive impact and give back to their community.
However, with barriers to employment including limited transport, and a lack of recent experience, it wasn’t an easy path.
“Iain has remained resilient and proactive,” said Evelyn.
“He continued to apply for roles and attend interviews even when previous applications had been unsuccessful.”
A key strength throughout the Iain’s journey has been his determination and positive attitude.
Iain would regularly attend our First Steps to Success events to meet employers in person and participated in training programs looking for that role that would be the right fit.
He was supported with food and fuel vouchers when needed.
“By addressing immediate financial pressures and improving access to opportunities, atWork Australia was able to support Iain to remain focused on his employment goals,” said Evelyn.
With this focus, Iain soon gained employment with Wagyl Kaip Southern Noongar Aborigional Corporation. A role that was the perfect fit for Iain and his goals.
