After two years out of the workforce, Rhonda was ready to return to work. She needed employment quickly as she was living with unstable housing.
Job Coach, Shanel, first supported Rhonda to purchase a phone so that she could be contactable for appointments, and for potential employers.
Shanel and Rhonda discussed her interests, skills and strengths. Through these conversations, Shanel learnt that Rhonda would be a great fit for an employer atWork Australia regularly worked with.
Shanel connected Rhonda to our employer engagement team who had the relationship with employer, Tescide. They pre-screened Rhonda and agreed she would be a great fit. She was put forward for a role as a car surveyor.
Rhonda was then supported to complete all the paperwork for her application, and subsequent onboarding when she landed the role.
The team helped her prepare for work with work related clothing, food and fuel vouchers for her first few weeks. She was also supported to gain her Maritime Security Licence which is a requirement for the role.
“The support provided helped Rhonda feel more prepared and confident in returning to employment,” said Shanel.
“We ensured she had everything she needed to be successful in her new role.”
Rhonda shared that she is happier than ever in her new role.
