Tamara was walking by the atWork Australia office in Glen Hunty. She noticed our signage which read ‘changing lives through employment’, and that atWork Australia could help people living with disability, injury and health condition find employment.
Tamara had recently moved to Glen Huntly and had been out of employment for a year. She was eager to find meaningful employment.
Her goal was to find a role that would be supportive of her health and wellbeing while providing her with financial security.
Longer term, Tamara would like to continue in an office-based role to support herself financially and enable her to live independently.
“Tamara loves to learn and is open to exploring opportunities,” said Job Coach, Hugo.
Tamara took great value from her regular appointments with Hugo, as they allowed her to build her self-confidence.
Together with Hugo, Tamara created a new resume, practiced her interview skills and learnt tips and tricks to job search.
Hugo’s calm nature supported Tamara to feel she could take her time to ensure any role would be the right fit for her.
Hugo, with our employer engagement team, connected Tamara to a role in admin that she felt was a great fit.
She started work in March.
“I feel a lot surer of myself and really appreciate having a job because it brings me financial stability and independence,” said Tamara
“I enjoy that I’m learning new skills and being a part of the team at my new job. It’s a great place to work,” said Tamara.
