Inclusive Employment Australia client, Dean, lives with hearing loss. He had been a truck driver in the past, but with a new pet dog, he didn’t want to be away from his home for extended periods of time.
The atWork Australia team supported Dean to gain a white card, and a forklift licence in preparation for any opportunities in factory or warehousing work.

With his new qualifications, Dean was connected to Employer Engagement Consultant, Catelyn, to be connected to an employer.
Catelyn worked with Dean to apply for a role at George Weston Foods.
“We organised everything for him to apply, and once this was done, he had a phone interview,” said Catelyn.
“Dean was very happy with what he had achieved already this year, and a job would top it off.”
Dean has now been in meaningful employment with George Weston Foods for 23 weeks.
“In this time, he has been offered a permanent role and has achieved employee of the month,” said Catelyn.
Dean has continued to be supported by atWork Australia during this time, including support with fuel when fuel prices made it difficult for him to get to and from work on time.
“Dean has shared that his life has improved as he is now able to pay his house off while enjoying life, thinking about places he can go. This weekend he is excited to go away with friends camping,” said Catelyn.
“He was also able to fix his car to ensure he could go away without any troubles. He really is kicking goals,”
