Jason is an Inclusive Employment Australia client with atWork Australia.
To support him with his employment goals, atWork Australia connected him to employer, Programmed. Jason now feels like work has meaning again.
Narelle is the Senior Employment Services Coordinator at Programmed.Narelle sent atWork Australia this image of Jason and asked us to take a moment look at his smile.
“I could see that Jason really wanted to work, he just needed the opportunity,” said Narelle.
“Jason was unsure how he would cope going back into full time work, so was keen to start off doing just two or three shifts a week.”
Initially Programmed provided a shift for Jason a few days a week, however the shift was 12 hours long.
“The shifts were too long, and Jason was worried he would not get another chance, by telling us he was struggling,” said Narelle.
“We worked with atWork Australia to dive deeper into what was not working and worked with our team to find a better fit.”
Programmed supported Jason to find a position that was a better fit, and within a few weeks he was working five shifts a week. Narelle asked Jason what the change was.
“He said he loves the role. He has been trained in all the areas and loves that he gets a variety in different areas.”
What sets Programmed apart as an employer is their willingness to try again and provide a tailored solutions to clients. Inclusive employers change lives through employment.
“I feel like part of the family here, they even have me training people now,” said Jason.
