Inclusive Employment Australia is coming

The Australian Government’s new employment program, Inclusive Employment Australia is coming 1 November 2025! This program will be replacing the current Disability Employment Services (DES) program. atWork Australia is excited and honoured to announce that we will be offering this program from 50 regions across six states in Australia.

Inclusive Employment Australia will help create a more inclusive future where people living with disability as well as those with injury or health condition can get support to prepare for, find and maintain work, and grow their career. The program places participants at the centre of the service, improving and simplifying services for people looking for work as well as employers.

What does the new Inclusive Employment Australia program mean for you?

Inclusive Employment Australia will be replacing the current DES program, starting 1 November. If you are a current DES client to atWork Australia, or any other provider, you will automatically transition to the new program. Your provider, as well as DSS will be in touch with you. You are not required to change anything. You will continue to get the same great service from the same friendly faces in the same place.

With the new program, you will be getting greater flexibility, services and support. Changes to the current DES program include:

  • Intensive support for people who are preparing to be ready to work. This includes tailored support to help you become work ready.
  • Flexible support for people who don’t need intensive services. We get to know you and what you need on your journey.
  • Removal of the two-year limit on the time people can stay in the program. This means that we can continue to support you for as long as you need us.

In addition to this support, more people will be able to access support, including:

  • People with an assessed work capacity of less than 8 hours per week.
  • Voluntary participants not getting a Centrelink income support payment.
