Self-described ‘Old School’ Workforce Australia Client, Mark had limited digital literacy skills.
When he was connected with atWork Australia in Drysdale, his Job Coach started to explain the ‘app’ and the points-based system, and Mark became overwhelmed.
He was referred to pre-employment facilitator, Preet, who was able to spend time one on one with Mark to coach him through using the system.
From here, Mark was introduced to the wide range of internal pre-employment support services offered by atWork Australia.
He was referred into our Wellness Services for additional health and wellness support during his job search.
He also participated in our money minded program to improve his budgeting and financial skills.
Mark was also supported by the atWork Australia team to create a resume to use for online applications.
Feeling supported, Mark was ready to begin applying for work.
The team connected Mark to local service Groomed To Go, who provided him with clothing appropriate for interviews.
The atWork Australia team helped him submit online applications, further growing his digital skills.
He was then connected to the local employer engagement consultant with atWork Australia who connected him to a role as an egg grader at a local farm, and he successfully landed the role.
The team again supported him to learn how to submit his hours to Centrelink and financially supported him to purchase the work-related clothing he would need to start the job.
Mark is looking forward to returning to the workforce.
“I am old school and have always struggled with online stuff. I am so grateful for atWork Australia assisting me to find work,” Mark.
