With updated skills, Beverley is thriving in work she enjoys

Beverley, a Workforce Australia client, in her 60’s, came to the atWork Australia office in Mount Druitt for support to find employment.

Within six months, Beverley was back at work, in a role she wanted.

When Beverley met with Job Coach, Smita, she shared that her goal was to find work in a customer service role.

She felt she might need support to update her skills in the industry, especially when it came to technology.

Shortly after starting with atWork Australia, Beverly gained an interview. Post interview she was determined to update her skills.

Smita supported Beverley to enroll in a Certificate III in Retail, a course focused on customer service.

She also worked with Beverley on her interview skills. Supporting her to be able to showcase her customer service abilities to future employers.

Beverley successfully completed her Certificate and when she spotted a role working as a receptionist, she put her new skills to good use and aced the interview.

Smita supported Beverly to purchase clothing for her new role, and topped up her Opal transport card so she could get to and from work.

Beverly has now been in her new role for a month and is grateful to have found full-time employment.
