Corey, 20, from Elderslie in NSW approached atWork Australia’s office in Narellan for assistance with his job search and managing his barriers. Here, he was introduced to his Job Coach Nicole.
Corey knew what type of role he was looking for and had relevant work experience in this field but struggled to find work due to a lack of confidence and missing motivation in finding the right role.
He was looking for guidance from his Job Coach on how to effectively manage his health conditions such as Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder and Borderline Personality Disorder to find him the most suitable job and provide him with support for remaining in that role long-term.
Nicole focused on addressing Corey’s health condition and showing him tools on how to manage them in an everyday working environment, and building his confidence. Nicole and Corey spent time updating his resume and sending it to local employers. Throughout the process, Corey and Nicola maintained a great level of communication which Corey really benefited from.
Corey was extremely excited when he found out that he was offered a role as an Outlet Assistant in a café at the local hospital. He came straight into the atWork Australia office to get assistance in filling out his induction paperwork to hand into his new employer, so that he could start pretty much straight away.
