Sometimes finding the courage to completely change your career path can be daunting but for Francisco, finding the right support has led to a happier and less stressful work life.
From Canning Vale in Perth, Francisco had experienced high levels of stress working in the finance sector and needed assistance with a career change, so he sought the help of his local atWork Australia office in Cannington.
When his Job Coach, Crystal sat down with Francisco to get to know him and discuss his career plan, it was clear he was highly educated but looking for a complete change in job roles.
Francisco had initially managed to source his own part-time work in election related roles, helping with polls, pre-polling and other election day tasks but when the election was over, he wanted to focus on finding a care related role.
Crystal says Francisco needed assistance to update and customise his résumé, and work through online applications in areas suited to the type of job he was looking for, and this is where she provided the most support.
He also trained for and completed various certificates related to the care industry such as a First Aid Certificate and NDIS New Worker Check, a Police Check and a Working with Children Check.
With Crystal’s constant support, Francisco set to work updating what he needed to, then together they liaised with Employer Engagement Consultant, Aaron, who was
happy to assist with finding and brokering a suitable role with a local employer.
Francisco is incredibly appreciative of all the assistance that Crystal gave to help him find sustainable work in a less stressful environment.
“Crystal always worked tirelessly and passionately to find me employment and her actions always matched her words,” says Francisco.
