Roslyn (63) is a hard-working individual, who has worked for organisations like Myer, Great Building Society and NBN. Unfortunately, Roslyn experienced a back injury and thought that she may not be able to secure employment with her age as well.
This is when Roslyn decided to reach out to atWork Australia for support. She met her Job Coach, Michelle, and Service Manager, Kaila, at the Edgeworth, NSW office.
Job Coach Michelle worked with Roslyn in identifying her vocational goals and the plan for her to gain employment in the industry she was aiming for. Roslyn was then supported with interview sessions with a focus in the tourism industry. With Michelle’s assistance, Roslyn secured a role as a Cellar Door Sales Assistant. Michelle ensured Roslyn was supported with suitable and comfortable shoes for her new role.
Roslyn was: “surprised and shocked to secure the role and over the moon about being employed in an industry she has a passion for. She gave her interview with confidence.”
After securing the role, Michelle continues to provide Post Placement Support to Roslyn; to ensure she is thriving in her new role. The process, from joining atWork Australia to securing employment, has been seamless.
Roslyn says: “Michelle was fantastic. She asked me what type of work I would be interested in, and I answered that I would like to work in the valley and sell wine. Service Manager Kaila was in the office and advised that she has an opportunity for me. I started my RSA course the next day and had an interview lined up.”
