Adam (51) was experiencing difficulties sustaining long-term employment during the lockdown as there were travel restrictions. Unfortunately, Adam was seeking employment when many businesses were closing, this led to Adam experiencing communication issues and he needed assistance with his job applications. Adam has a goal of becoming a Forklift Driver and was determined to achieve this goal.
Adam needed guidance in identifying his strengths and he wanted a work location closer to his home, as he experienced difficulties with taking public transport to work.
Adam met his Job Coach, Sarah, at his local atWork Australia office in Campbelltown. Sarah assisted Adam in identifying suitable employment opportunities with employers that were located close to public transport and would allow Adam to enjoy his role and work with an understanding employer. Sarah contacted employers and highlighted Adam’s skills and interests to support him in the application process.
During the application and interview process, Adam remained very positive and cooperative and was determined to work towards his goal of becoming a Forklift Driver. Adam had his Forklift license and was ready to take on an employment opportunity. With the assistance of Job Coach Sarah, Adam secured a Forklift Driver role.
Adam is thriving in his new job and has been offered a permanent position. It has been over six months since he secured this role.

Job Coach Sarah also assisted Adam with his induction and online training, after he secured the job.
