Brian is happily employed in security work and his daughter has found care, thanks to the support of the atWork Australia team in Margate, Queensland, and Brian’s determination.
After moving to atWork Australia for support in finding work, Brian was connected with dedicated local Job Coach, Chantelle.
As Brian lives with PTSD and has had some challenges in his life, Chantelle set to find out about Brian’s work history, his aspirations and the work he enjoys doing.
Brian is a single Dad to a 7-year-old daughter, Chantelle recognised the importance of finding him work, not only for himself but also for his daughter.
After noticing Brian’s motivation and readiness for finding work, Chantelle and Brian set to polishing Brian’s resume and interview skills, then worked towards finding an available role in the security industry, due to previous roles Brian had that he enjoyed.
As Brian has sole care of his daughter, his Job Coach Chantelle contacted several local childcare centres to find a vacancy. After some luck, Chantelle was able to gain a spot.
Chantelle reached out to Tori, an Employer Engagement Consultant with atWork Australia who recognised Brian’s skills and instantly knew of an employer in atWork Australia’s network that would be the perfect match for Brian.
ANSIC Security Services and Investigation (ANSIC) in Brisbane were sent Brian’s resume and arranged an interview the very next day.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, ANSIC were urgently recruiting Security Guards, and after a successful interview with Brian, he was offered the position on the spot.
The very next week, Brian started work as a Security Guard. Brian was thrilled to have someone recognise his skills and happy to be working again.
