After many years of volunteering, Ola had to stop due to various health conditions. Ola found atWork Australia and recently has landed a job that is flexible and right for her.
Ola was referred to atWork Australia after years of unemployment when she felt she was ready to approach finding paid work. Ola had started searching herself but was getting discouraged and finding it difficult to overcome no luck when applying for jobs.
When Ola went to her local atWork Australia office, she met her dedicated Disability Employment Services Job Coach, Gaurav. Gaurav and Ola got to work quickly, looking at what Ola enjoyed, her skills and passions to find the right job for her.
Gaurav supported Ola in making and amending her resume and cover letter, interview preparation and more sessions to help grow Ola’s confidence and get her ready for work.
Ola expressed that she wanted an employer who knew how to cater well to her individual needs and could be flexible. Gaurav began contacting different inclusive employers and utilising the atWork Australia network to set up interviews.
Not long after, Gaurav was excited to let Ola know that she had an interview organised for an office clerk position, with a great employer. Ola got the job and was able to settle in very well.
Her Job Coach Gaurav said “I felt relieved and was very happy when she received the phone call from the employer, telling her words she needed to hear after such a long time. Most importantly, the employer was very supportive and understanding with her conditions and gave her the flexibility that she needed”
Ola was very happy to have found work as an office clerk and had great things to say about Gaurav and atWork Australia.
“Gaurav was always very understanding and very patient with my needs and requirements of the type of employer I needed to be with.”
With the support of Gaurav and her employer, Ola said she enjoys work and now feels more confident.
