PERTH – atWork Australia proudly supports Dive In, a multi award winning festival for diversity and inclusion in insurance, recently hosting a ‘Looking Beyond Disability’ event at the Westin Hotel in Perth.
The event explored how organisations and individuals can ensure people with disability are given every opportunity to gain employment and build meaningful careers. With focus on encouraging the insurance industry to actively work towards creating an experience of access and inclusion by increasing the participation of people with disability.
atWork Australia was thrilled to support and participate in such an important, and successful, initiative. Our DES Ambassador, Shaun Pianta was invited as a guest speaker at the ‘Looking Beyond Disability’ event, sharing his inspiring story of overcoming many challenges to find meaningful work, with key stakeholders from the insurance and legal sector.
Shaun connected with the engaged audience, helping to spread the important message that work helps to transform people’s lives, just like it did for him. He also highlighted the importance of increasing diversity and inclusion across all industry sectors, not only insurance.
“It was a privilege to have the opportunity to take part in such an impactful initiative that celebrates diversity and inclusion in insurance across the world, helping to raise awareness and providing people with knowledge, inspiration and practical ideas to implement positive change,” said atWork Australia’s DES Ambassador, Shaun Pianta.
With thousands of people attending events in over 60 cities in 33 countries around the world between 24 – 26 September 2019, it’s clear that this year’s festival has once again been a resounding success, and the energy of the festival will be harnessed to encourage promotion across many sectors.
