After a year of struggle, Christopher is delighted to have a new job in customer service and clarity about his future.
The 37-year-old contacted the Reservoir office of atWork Australia in November after experiencing a wretched year in which he found himself unemployed.
Christopher was quickly given a Dedicated Disability Jobs Coach During their first meeting, Job Coach Rozy could see that Christopher had low confidence in himself.
“He was full of negative thoughts which led to him feeling lost and confused about what to do moving forward,” Rozy said.
Rozy began by scheduling weekly meetings so that she could build a rapport with Christopher and keep an eye on his physical and mental health. R0zy and Christopher developed mutual trust and were able to openly discuss Christopher’s personal and career goals and how to reach them.
Rozy spent a great deal of time working with Christopher on building his confidence and executing his job plan. Together they wrote professional job applications, discussed effective time management, and held mock interviews to properly prepare for the question’s employers were likely to ask.
After only a few weeks Christopher secured two interviews, both of which went well. Through atWork Australia, Rozy was able to purchase Christopher some new work shoes for the interviews, which really helped to boost his confidence.
After a successful interview, Christopher was offered a full-time customer service role in a convenient location.
Christopher is extremely grateful for all of Rozy’s support.
“When I first came to your office I was hesitant of my ability to get back to full-time work. But you (Rozy) believed in me and my ability to return to work before I had that confidence in myself,” he said.

Rozy was ecstatic to see Christopher find work and knows his confidence will continue to grow through his newfound employment.
