Independence. Something that 53-year-old Disability Employment Services client, Darren, now has because of gaining employment.
After several years out of the workforce, Darren was eager to progress into consistent employment. This was something that he has not had since 2007.
As a part of his journey, he worked with Job Coaches, Tamara and Rebecca from the atWork Australia office in Mawson Lakes, SA.
Within his initial consultation, Tamara and Rebecca got to know Darren; his barriers, his skills, passions, and interests. All of this information will be vital in finding the perfect sustainable position for him.
With a history of temporary labour hire positions, he expressed that this was an industry he would want to remain in.

Once Darren was confident and ready, they started applying for positions, and within no time, he was successful in gaining a role as a Yard Hand.
Rebecca states “Darren was over the moon when he found out he got the job. Darren is looking forward to financial independence and getting into a good routine.”
With his first day looming, Darren states – “I am feeling ready and excited to go back to work.”
