Daniel arrived at atWork Australia Laverton branch after reporting challenges with his reading and interpretation. Often workplace instructions were not clear to Daniel resulting in further challenges of holding down a position.
Prior to coming to atWork Australia, Daniel didn’t possess any qualifications and his experience was limited.
He had been working for DoorDash as a Food Delivery Driver but felt as though he could earn more for his hard work.
Daniel began to seek work that was more inline with his goals however, he had been declined by several employers after many job interviews.
He believes that was due to his communication constraints, be that, over the phone or through face to face interactions. He felt that he couldn’t express himself in a way that would allow employers to see his true potential.
atWork Australia Job Coach Vanessa assisted Daniel with interview techniques facilitating practice, or mock interviews. They would do this every fortnight and Daniel got better every time he attended a session.
Vanessa also assisted Daniel updating his resume and putting him forward for his Certificate III in Civil Construction, Forklift Licence (LF). With these new skills and qualifications, opportunities began to open for Daniel.
His interview for a warehouse position was successful and he enjoys the work and his colleague’s company.
