To Disability Employment Services client, Toni, friendly support on her journey to employment made all the difference after four years out of the workforce.
Like most of the world, Toni’s world paused during the pandemic in 2020. At this time, she was working with the atWork Australia team in Rockingham, WA, and had made great progress until she was unable to proceed with her studies.
After the lockdowns cooled, she re-engaged the services of atWork Australia, but this time from the Kwinana office. On this new phase of her journey, she worked closely with Job Coach, Natalie.
She picked up where she left off; they discussed her knees, the pain surrounding them and what sort of work would suit her best considering this.
As job opportunities became available, the pair would discuss their suitability and if the role excited Toni, after all they were looking for employment that was sustainable to Toni, both now and in the long run.
As the job hunt was on, Toni was consistent with attending her appointments, where the pair would discuss any concerns that Toni had on returning to the workforce.
Within no time, Toni was offered a casual cleaning position. She was ecstatic.
After working in this role for several weeks, Toni is thoroughly enjoying the position and it has kept her feeling both busy and productive.
