Leonard (56) had found himself unemployed and was lost at what to do next, or what industry he might like to work in.
He met with Job Coach, Taylah, from atWork Australia Corrimal, NSW, looking for support and guidance into a new career.
After a few meetings, Leonard decided he liked the idea of the construction industry and Taylah supported him to gain the tickets he would need.
Funded by atWork Australia, Leonard was able to gain a traffic control ticket and a forklift license.
He also participated in a pre-employment training course which focused on technology and resilience in the workplace.
With a newfound confidence, Leonard was ready to go for the career he really wanted. He was motivated to start his own traffic control business, obtained an ABN and set out to work on contracts.

He now works alongside his accountant and with atWork Australia to make sure he is lodging all the correct paperwork to ensure his business is maintained.
