After an injury, Disability Employment Services client, Geoffrey, entered the atWork Australia office in Noarlunga, SA, with one goal in mind – to become a security guard.
When he first met his Job Coach, Katrina, she could see his passion for entering the industry. She was just as eager to get him there as he was.
Not only was Geoffrey certain of the position he was after, and the qualifications needed, but he also knew what employer he wanted to work for. He had contacted this company in the past, and they mentioned if he got the qualifications for the position, that the job would be all his.
With this in mind, Katrina got straight to work, and Geoffrey was enrolled within a Certificate II in Security Operations, that the employer requested. atWork Australia was able to financially support him in achieving this.
After completing the course with flying colours, and the ongoing support from Katrina within their appointments together, Geoffery started his dream job.
This job was something Geoffrey dreamed of for a long time, and we are happy to report that it is everything that he wanted it to be. He loves his job.
Geoffrey now attends functions including concerts, festivals, motorsport events and other public events.
Despite landing his position, his hard work has not stopped. He is now looking to venture further into the world of security, expanding his options in different security paths, ie. night patrols and armored trucks.
