Georgia never thought she would be suited to a role in retail but with a little work on her confidence, she soon felt differently.
Georgia, who lives with anxiety and depression needed support in finding the right employer for her. She was introduced to dedicated Job Coach, Robert who could immediately see Georgia lacked confidence in herself and her abilities.
They also reworked Georgia’s resume and designed a cover letter for her to use when applying for work.
Georgia had previous experience in customer service and Robert felt this would be a good base for her to look at a meaningful role in the retail industry.
Both Georgia and Robert had seen a position advertised at the local chemist and Robert thought this would be perfect for Georgia.
Robert supported Georgia throughout the application and interview process, continuing to build her confidence and encouraging her to believe in herself.
Georgia was over the moon when she was offered a position as a Beauty Advisor on a casual basis.
Robert was excited for Georgia. “We set a goal of using Georgia’s customer service skills to look at getting into retail and within just six weeks, she has reached her goal. Seeing how positive and confident Georgia is now is so rewarding,” he says.
Georgia has loved the opportunity to prove herself saying, “Everything happens for a reason, I am very proud of myself and I’m really enjoying work.”
Robert continues to offer post-placement support for Georgia, checking in and ensuring everything is going smoothly for her.
It is going extremely well for Georgia who has already been promoted to a more supervisory role after just nine months with the company.
