Rebecca is on a mission; she is determined to make changes in her life, building a pathway towards employment and a brighter future. Rebecca came to atWork Australia’s Workforce Australia office in Sydney to get tailored support to help her progress on her journey.
Rebecca bought along a lot of experience from working in the education industry, and she aspires to one day be a teacher. When Rebecca first met her Job Coach, Kaniz, she was a bit hesitant to share information about her barriers to employment. Kaniz was patient, took the time to get to know her, and eventually earned her trust.
Rebecca then shared that she had low confidence, limited job searching skills and found it difficult to answer interview questions appropriately. Kaniz assured Rebecca that he would be there to support her on her journey to employment, and that by taking small steps, it will lead to achieving her goals.
Kaniz thought Rebecca would benefit from atWork Australia’s internal program, Powered by Positivum. Powered by Positivum program is a group training program delivered over one week and is designed to develop practical and powerful work readiness skills through improved wellbeing and industry specific skills training.
After completing the program, Rebecca had significantly improved her employability, developing her computer skills, effectively completing job searches and specifically tailoring her resume and cover letter to match job applications, which will increase her chances of securing employment.
Throughout the program there was a big emphasis on goal setting and financial planning; this helped build Rebecca’s confidence in her ability to achieve her long-term goals.
Rebecca’s Job Coach, Kaniz, said, “Rebecca has come along way in her journey with atWork Australia, she has started to believe in herself and that she can achieve anything she wants if she is willing to put the effort in.”
