At sixty-two years old, Jeffrey, is a hard worker, who doesn’t mind putting in an honest day’s work. When Jeffrey came to atWork Australia’s Salisbury office to get support from the Workforce Australia team, he was feeling a little deflated. For the past four years, he had been busy caring for a family member and now he was ready to return to work. Jeffrey was not quite ready to retire, but feared due to his gap in employment and having no formal qualifications, he did not believe he would be able to re-enter the workplace.
When Jeffrey met his Job Coach, Alicia, she could see his motivation, but could also sense his disappointment at not being able to find work. Alicia promised Jeffrey she would do everything she could to help him and assured him that they were now on this journey together.

Jeffrey participated in atWork Australia’s Jobs Now program, he completed Work for the dole, he completed his White Card and gained his Forklift ticket. Jeffrey was a man on a mission, and that mission was to find a job.
He continued taking on every opportunity offered by Alicia, attending job trials and information sessions. Despite his best efforts, he was still finding it difficult to secure employment.
It’s a true testament to Jeffrey’s character, after consistently being looked over for jobs, he continued to hold his head up high and kept looking for the next opportunity. Eventually, with the support of his Job Coach, Alicia, he secured a position as a Warehouse Operator.
Several months later, Jeffrey is still happily employed and thriving in his new workplace. He is now reaping the rewards for all the hard work he has put into securing employment. The icing on the cake, he has recently been promoted to Warehouse Manager.
